بکنیم (آلبوم هیچ هیچ هیچ) - شاهین نجفی
Shahin Najafi - Bokonim (Album Hich Hich Hich)

To Do

Pallam, ploum, plich, your hands are in again (*1)
That you are the wolf 'n we are to do the escape
To further places in the house yard,
At the side of the dirt road, we are to do the date
Without all extras, beside every bus
We are to stand and do the ride together
On the hard chair, behind the grimy window
Sick with worry, we are to do the waiting
Getting to nowhere, going on from where
At the night station, we are to do the train
Travelling to the end of the world with closed eyes
Laughing at your slyness with wet cheeks
From you to the one who smelled like shroud
The world was Leili 'n not getting it's genus (*2)
Two with no tickets and no destination
Through borrowed headphones we are to do the tape
The city full of traffic and crowds again
Next to the subway, we are to do the cave's image
Walking across the crowded highway
At the crosswalk, we are to do the choice
In the diner, being eaten at the table
Afterwards we are to sum lunch 'n dinner up at once
Dark now, we both need a nice sleep
Under the bridge, hugging ,we are to do the squeeze
Let all the extras go, just constantly
we are to do the funny life
You touch my back softly,
that you are the wolf and we are to do the hunt (*3)
Travelling to the end of the world with closed eyes
Laughing at your slyness with wet cheeks
From you to the one who smelled like shroud
The world was Leili 'n not getting it's genus
Shitting to the end of the world with closed eyes
Laughing at your slyness with wet cheeks
From you to the one who smelled like shroud
The world was Leili 'n not getting it's genus

*** This is a post modern sonnet( with lots of deconstructions and defamiliarizations both in structure of the language and its content) by Fatemeh Ekhtesari

(*1&3 ) refers to a childish play in Iran, in which children count to a specified number and show their hands with their palms up or down, and the one with the palm up will be the wolf and has to catch others

(*2) refers to a popular proverb in Iran ( was Leili a man or a woman?) saying to people who don't even get the simplest basics even after long explanations ( Leili is the female character in a famous eastern long folklore love story.)
