The Cowboys are trying to find ways to make things work with wide receiver Michael Gallup. A person with knowledge of the discussions told The Dallas Morning News that the Cowboys have given Gallup’s agent, Kevin Robinson, permission to seek a trade. The Cowboys have been complimentary of Gallup this offseason, but if he’s on the roster March 17, $4 million of his $8.5 million base salary for 2024 will become guaranteed. Trading Gallup before then would have the trading team pick up the remaining three years of his contract.Teams have been reluctant to make a deal for Gallup, fearing he’s going to be released. Keeping Gallup on the roster for the 2024 season would carry a $13.8 million cap hit and $15.8 million cap hits for 2025 and 2026.
