The House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol held a public hearing Tuesday focused on the mobilization of the mob at the U.S. Capitol and the links between extremists and former President Donald Trump. Jason Van Tatenhove, the former media director for the Oath Keepers, and Stephen Ayres, who pleaded guilty to illegally entering the Capitol building, also testified at the hearing. The House Jan. 6 committee has held seven public hearings in June and July to showcase the evidence they have gathered, including former President Donald Trump's role in undermining the 2020 election results by pushing false voter fraud claims.
