Some information about my recording set up:
My recording set up is really quite simple. I use an MXL Genesis Microphone (it took some time to save up the money for this, and for years I just used a dynamic mic with nice results), I run the microphone and my guitar through a Line6 Pod x3 live which is connected to my computer via USB. The software I used is Adobe Audition. When recording live like this, I pan the vocals all to the left channel, and the guitar all to the right so that I can tweak them separately in post processing, then I convert them to stereo tracks.
